First day of Fieldwork at Winkelbury 27.05.2016

We have had our first day of geophysics on Winkelbury Hillfort with Winchester University

2016-05-27 14.11.30

We are using two Geophysical techniques magnetometry (which detects small changes in the earths magnetic field) and resistivity (which uses electrical resistance to detect changes within the soil). We are hoping to find evidence of activity within the hillfort (both within and outside the area investigated by General Pitt Rivers) and between the two great Cross Dykes and the inner Hillfort area.
